The Home Counties comprise those English Counties closest to London and were originally those counties on the circuit of the Assize Court. The modern term tends to refer to those counties within commuting distance of London - so people can return ‘Home’ every day.

Plenty of information including walks can be found here on the Britain Express site, an extensive resource for countryside information.

There are over 2200 kilometres of Public Rights of Way in Bedfordshire, linking towns and villages to the diverse countryside and landscape of the county. Click here for more information on them, temporary closures, definitive maps and more!

A great reference page for Buckinghamshire, this site features a comprehensive section on guide books and also details of the many long distance paths that traverse the county.

Although some of the walks featured here are in West Middlesex, The Bucks and W. Middlesex Ramblers here list a varied programme of walks on their website.

 A newly-formed site for people in their 20’s and 30’s who are interested in walking, Communigate is well worth a visit to sign up!
